Antoni Gaudí looked back on his childhood and wrote:

Children and their urban environment
Nowadays, more and more children live in an urban environment, which provides less access to nature, both direct and indirect access, and a lot of researches have proven that engaging with nature is an essential requirement for children's cognitive, emotional and physical development. 
Human being and the daily objects
We as human beings are animals with various emotions, which make us different from other creatures on the earth. The relation between us and the objects we use every day has been loaded with emotions and memories; the same object could bring different feeling to a group of people or a single human being. 



Design research, reading and observations/

I have read articles and books about how natural access and environment impact on children's cognitive, emotional and physical development. And also I have done some observations with children, which let me research closer and deeper with the them! (check the observation diary here)

To sum up the research and observations, there is an urgent need of store and a place for displaying the natural collections. And also, all these conclusions make me think the triggers of exploration and the tools for observation are worth developing and visualizing.

Try out with children/
I have tried out the set with 10-year-old children, they led me to the natural to play and collect, I provided the set for the extensive indoors play and observation!

Height: 150 cm
Lampshade: 26(H) X 60(D) cm
Base: 30 X 30 cm

Adults are always playing the dominant role in terms of interior design. Children can only have their furniture in their room, and they are usually regarded as toys or childish furniture. Hence, it is challenging and interesting to make furniture, which is not only from an adult perspective but also has play signals, inviting kids to play with it.
Drawing from both inside and outside on the lampshade(double layer polycarbonate sheets), playing with the light effect showing the inside drawing or continuing the drawing from both side, the material make it really easy to wipe off the drawing. The lamp provides new ways of interaction between adults and kids.

The light source is LED, therefore it won't generate high-temperature heat, it provide a safe space for children drawing inside the lampshade.

BACKGROUND 

The sites_ 
There are two passive sites belong to Gothenburg city, which are near the school and living area, in the morning, a big amount of people walking though the places, and a big portion of them are kids, I would like to work with the “slope” site in this project. 

Target group_
8-12 year-old girls, who are not willing to be connected to the word “play”, and feel more sensitive and protective of there bodies and privacy, for example, they don’t want to be watched when they play and also be more protective as the begin to change into teenager. 

Kompan_ 
This project is cooperated with KOMPAN, the concept of modular equipment or system.

		<description>In our life, being helped and helping others are happening everyday, it feels wonderful and warm when you receiving a “thank you” or just a smile after helping people.
Therefore, in this project, I put the concept in light design as the main idea, the characters are blue lovely birds, one is trying to turn on the light, but he couldn't reach it ; you just need to touch the copper mushroom/leaves softly and then the lamp will turn on with a sincere smiled face showing up for you!

“Stick together” is a playful blanket which is not only a warm handmade textured blanket but also a tool that increase fun and play between family members.


Background:
In the "Convention on the Rights of the Child" (CRC), there is one article mentioned that “Families whose members live in different countries should be allowed to move between those countries so that parents and children can stay contact, or get back together as a family”.

Nowadays, not only the children that separated from their family need reunion, sometimes people “ignore” their family even if you are together in the same house...Therefore, I would like to design a blanket that makes parents and children feel closer to each other and also experience the feeling of together.

To me, there is always a great feeling about the cultural and environmental variety in this small island, Taiwan, where I was born. The passion between the people, and towards nature, is what makes me want to share with others.      

FLEXIBOWL is a changeable container that takes on different shapes when you put various things in it! When empty, it becomes a beautiful interior sculpture. pushing the edge softly, you can find your own balance and fun.

Material
I use Meng-Tzung bamboo grown in Taiwan to show the beauty and calm and humble of the island and also the material. Bamboo is also a kind of sustainable material which has a shorter life circle than most woods. I also use acrylic (Acrylic kingdom is one of Taiwan’s nickname) as material to show the modern lines and ravishing lighting in this product.
